Posted on April 4, 2012

Akadema recently announced its re-signing of Boston Red Sox pitcher Vicente Padilla to a glove contract for the 2012 season. Padilla is slated to be the long reliever and spot starter in the Red Sox bullpen this season. While Padilla began his career in Arizona Diamondbacks organization, he has since played for Phillies, Rangers and Dodgers, highlighted by an All-Star Game selection in 2002 with the Phillies when he finished the year with a 3.28 ERA. When the 34-year-old Nicaraguan takes the mound, he will be sporting an Akadema ADU 135 glove. The Boston Red Sox begin their season on the road against the Detroit Tigers on Thursday, April 5.
